The Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001 (Commencement No. 8) Order 2002

In exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 138(2) of the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001( 1 ), the Secretary of State hereby makes the following Order:

1. This Order may be cited as the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001 (Commencement No. 8) Order 2002.

2. The following provisions of the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001 shall come into force on 1st January 2003—

(a) section 78(1), (3), (4), (5), (6), (8) and (9) (taking fingerprints);

(b) section 80(3), (5) and (6) (samples);

(c) section 137 (repeals) in so far as it relates to the entry Criminal Justice Act 1948( 2 ) in Schedule 7, Part 2; and

(d) the entry Criminal Justice Act 1948 in Schedule 7, Part 2.
