The Gas (Calculation of Thermal Energy) (Amendment) Regulations 2002

In exercise of the powers conferred on the Gas and Electricity Markets Authority( 1 ) (“the Authority”) by sections 13(2) and (3) and 47(7)( 2 ) of the Gas Act 1986( 3 ) (“the Act”), and with the consent of the Secretary of State in accordance with section 13(2) of the Act, the Authority hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation, commencement and interpretation

1. These regulations may be cited as the Gas (Calculation of Thermal Energy) (Amendment) Regulations 2002 and shall come into force on 1st February 2003.

2. —(1) The Gas (Calculation of Thermal Energy) Regulations 1996( 4 ) are amended in accordance with paragraph (2).

(2) In regulation 14, omit the words “who is a member of the Director’s staff”.

The Gas and Electricity Markets Authority was established by section 1 of the Utilities Act 2000 (c. 27) .

Subsection (7) was substituted by section 100 of the Utilities Act 2000.

1986 c. 44 ; the functions of the Director-General of Gas Supply were transferred to the Authority by section 3 of the Utilities Act 2000. Section 3(2) provides for references to the Director in enactments to have effect as if they were references to the Authority.
