The Merchant Shipping (Revocation) (Bermuda) Order 2002

in accordance with Article 1

At the Court at Buckingham Palace, the 17th day of December 2002

Present,

The Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred upon Her by sections 4(1)(a) and 4(3) of the Carriage of Goods by Sea Act 1971( 1 ) and sections 128(1), 141(1), 147(3) and 315(2) of the Merchant Shipping Act 1995( 2 ) and all other powers enabling Her in that behalf, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Revocation) (Bermuda) Order 2002 and shall come into force on such date as the Governor of Bermuda may appoint by proclamation published in the Gazette of Bermuda.

2. The following Orders are hereby revoked—

(a) The Prevention of Oil Pollution Act 1971 (Bermuda) Order 1980( 3 );

(b) The Merchant Shipping (Safety Convention) (Bermuda) Order 1973( 4 );

(c) The Merchant Shipping (Safety Convention) (Bermuda) (No 2) Order 1973( 5 );

(d) The Merchant Shipping (Load Lines) (Bermuda) Order 1975( 6 );

(e) The Merchant Shipping Act 1979 (Bermuda) Order 1980( 7 );

(f) The Prevention of Oil Pollution (Enforcement of Convention) (Bermuda) Order 1980( 8 );

(g) The Prevention of Oil Pollution (Shipping Casualties) (Bermuda) Order 1980( 9 );

(h) The Carriage of Goods by Sea (Bermuda) Order 1982( 10 );

(i) The Merchant Shipping (Tonnage) (Bermuda) Order 1998( 11 );

(j) The Merchant Shipping (Prevention of Oil Pollution) (Bermuda) Order 1988( 12 );

(k) The Merchant Shipping Act 1988 (Bermuda) Order 1991( 13 );

(l) The Merchant Shipping (Prevention and Control of Pollution) (Bermuda) Order 1992( 14 ); and

(m) The Merchant Shipping (Oil Pollution) (Bermuda) Order 1997( 15 ).
