The National Health Service Reform and Health Care Professions Act 2002 (Commencement No. 3) Order 2002

The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 42(3) of the National Health Service Reform and Health Care Professions Act 2002( 1 ) and all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
Citation, interpretation and application
1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the National Health Service Reform and Health Care Professions Act 2002 (Commencement No. 3) Order 2002.
(2) This Order applies to England only, apart from article 2(2)(d) which applies to England and Wales.
Appointed day
2. —(1) 1st January 2003 is the day appointed for the coming into force of the provisions of the National Health Service Reform and Health Care Professions Act 2002 specified in paragraph (2).
(2) The provisions referred to in paragraph (1) are—
(a) section 20 and Schedule 6 (The Commission for Patient and Public Involvement in Health);
(b) section 21 (overview and scrutiny committees);
(c) paragraph 2 of Schedule 8 (minor and consequential amendments) and, in so far as they relate to that paragraph, paragraph 1 of that Schedule and section 37(1);
(d) section 37(2) and Schedule 9 (repeals) in so far as they relate to the repeal in Part 3 of that Schedule of paragraphs 71(3), 73 and 75 of Schedule 2 to the National Health Service (Primary Care) Act 1997( 2 ).
