The Secretary of State, in exercise of his powers conferred by section 11(2)(c) of the National Health Service (Primary Care) Act 1997( 1 ), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:โ€”

Citation, commencement, extent and interpretation

1. โ€”(1) These Regulations may be cited as the National Health Service (England) (Pilot Schemes: Miscellaneous Provisions and Consequential Amendments) Amendment Regulations 2002 and shall come into force on 1st April 2002.

(2) These Regulations extend to England only.

(3) In these Regulations the โ€œprincipal Regulationsโ€ means the National Health Service (Pilot Schemes: Miscellaneous Provisions and Consequential Amendments) Regulations 1998( 2 ).

Amendment of principal Regulations

2. In regulation 5 of the principal Regulations (persons who may perform personal medical services), in paragraph (2)โ€”

(a) omit โ€œandโ€ at the end of sub-paragraph (a);

(b) after sub-paragraph (b) addโ€”

โ€œ (c) a person who has an acquired right to practise as a general medical practitioner under regulation 5(1)(d) of the Vocational Training for General Medical Practice (European Requirements) Regulations 1994 ( 3 ) . โ€ .
