The Local Authorities (Access to Meetings and Documents) (Period of Notice) (England) Order 2002

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 100K(3) of the Local Government Act 1972( 1 ) hereby makes the following Order:

Citation, commencement and application

1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the Local Authorities (Access to Meetings and Documents) (Period of Notice) (England) Order 2002 and shall come into force on 1st October 2002.

(2) This Order applies in relation to local authorities in England.

Admission to meetings of principal councils

2. In subsection (6)(a) of section 100A of the Local Government Act 1972 (admission to meetings of principal councils) for “three clear days”, substitute “five clear days”.

Access to agenda and connected reports

3. In section 100B of the Local Government Act 1972 (access to agenda and connected reports), in—

(a) subsection (3); and

(b) subsection (4)(a),

for “three clear days”, in each case, substitute “five clear days”.

1972 c. 70 . Part VA was inserted into the Local Government Act 1972 by the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985. Subsection (3) of 100K was added by section 98 of the Local Government Act 2000 c. 22 .
