In exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 1A(1) and (2) of the Immigration (Carrier’s Liability) Act 1987( 1 ), the Secretary of State hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the Immigration (Transit Visa) (Amendment) Order 2002.

(2) This Order shall come into force on 17th April 2002.

Amendment of the 1993 Order

2. After article 2(b) of the Immigration (Transit Visa) Order 1993( 2 ) there is inserted—

1987 (c. 24) ; section 1A was inserted by section 12(1) and (3) of the Asylum and Immigration Act 1993 (c. 23) ; section 1A is prospectively repealed by Schedule 16 to the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 (c. 33) but the repeal is not yet in force.

S.I. 1993/1678 ; to which there are amendments not relevant to the subject-matter of this Order.
