The Education (School Admissions Code of Practice and School Admission Appeals Code of Practice) (Appointed Day) (England) Order 2003

In the exercise of the powers conferred by section 85(5) of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998( 1 ), the Secretary of State for Education and Skills hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and application

1. This Order may be cited as the Education (School Admissions Code of Practice and School Admission Appeals Code of Practice) (Appointed Day) (England) Order 2003.

2. This Order applies only in relation to England.

Appointed Day

3. The day appointed for the coming into force of the School Admissions Code of Practice and the School Admission Appeals Code of Practice (copies of a draft of which were laid before Parliament on 15 th November 2002) is 31 st January 2003.

1998 c 31 ; by virtue of the National Assembly for Wales (Transfer of Functions) Order 1999 (S.I. 1999/672 ), the powers conferred by section 85(5) are exercisable by the Secretary of State only in relation to England.
