We, the Crown Court Rule Committee, in exercise of the powers conferred upon us by sections 84(1) and 86 of the Supreme Court Act 1981( 1 ) and section 60(1) of the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000( 2 ) make the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These rules may be cited as the Crown Court (Forfeiture of Political Donations) Rules 2003 and shall come into force on 24th July 2003.

Application of provisions of the Crown Court Rules 1982 with modifications

2. β€”(1) The Crown Court Rules 1982( 3 ) shall have effect as appropriate in relation to appeals under section 59 of the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000 with the following modifications.

(2) For Rule 7(3) substituteβ€”

β€œ (3) Notice of appeal shall be given before the end of the period of 30 days beginning with the date on which the forfeiture order is made. ” .

(3) Omit Rules 7(5) to 7(7).
