The Distress for Rent (Amendment) Rules 2003

The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 8 of the Law of Distress Amendment Act 1888( 1 ) hereby makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1. These Rules may be cited as the Distress for Rent (Amendment) Rules 2003 and shall come into force on 15th August 2003.
Amendments to Distress for Rent Rules 1988
2. Appendix 1 to the Distress for Rent Rules 1988( 2 ) shall be amended as follows—
(a) in paragraph 1, for “£12.50” substitute “£21.65”;
(b) in paragraph 3—
(i) for “man” wherever it occurs, substitute “person”;
(ii) for “£4.50” substitute “£7.80”; and
(iii) for “45p” substitute “80p”;
(c) in paragraphs 2, 4, 5 and 7 for “taxation”, substitute “detailed assessment”.
3. In Form 8 in Appendix 2 to the Distress for Rent Rules 1988, for “man” wherever it occurs substitute “person”.
