The Transport Act 1968 (Commencement No. 11) Order 2003

The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 166 of the Transport Act 1968( 1 ) and now vested in him( 2 ), hereby makes the following Order:

1. This Order may be cited as the Transport Act 1968 (Commencement No. 11) Order 2003.

2. Section 99 of the Transport Act 1968, in so far as it is not already in force( 3 ), shall come into force on 1st September 2003.

1968 c. 73 ; Section 99 was amended by the European Communities Act 1972 (c. 68) section 4 and Schedule 4, the Road Traffic (Drivers Ages and Hours of Work) Act 1976 (c. 3) section 2, the Passenger and Goods Vehicles (Recording Equipment) Regulations 1979 (S.I. 1979/1746 ), the Magistrates Courts Act 1980 (c. 43) section 32, the Criminal Justice Act 1982 (c. 48) sections 38 and 46, the Transport Act 1985 (c. 67) section 3 and Schedule 2, the Community Drivers' Hours and Recording Equipment Regulations 1986 (S.I. 1986/1457 ) and the Road Traffic Act 1991 (c. 40) section 48 and Schedule 4.

Section 99(1)-(9) was brought into force by S.I. 1970/259 , subject to exceptions.
