ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS

Coming into force in accordance with regulation 1(2)

The Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, being the Minister designated( 1 ) for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972( 2 ) in relation to information society services, in exercise of the powers conferred on her by the said section 2(2) hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. —(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) (Extension) (No. 2) Regulations 2003.

(2) These Regulations shall come into force on 31st October 2003 immediately after the Copyright (Visually Impaired Persons) Act 2002 (Commencement) Order 2003( 3 ) has come into force.

Application of the E-Commerce Regulations

2. The Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002 ( 4 ) (“the E-Commerce Regulations”) shall apply to—

(a) the enactments listed in Part 1 of the Schedule, as amended by the Copyright and Related Rights Regulations 2003( 5 ); and

(b) the enactments listed in Part 2 of the Schedule,

notwithstanding regulation 3(2) of the E-Commerce Regulations.
