The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 11 of the Consumer Protection Act 1987( 1 ) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, and after consultation in accordance with section 11(5) of that Act with such organisations as appear to him to be representative of interests substantially affected by the following Regulations, such other persons as he considers appropriate, and the Health and Safety Commission in relation to the application of the following Regulations to Great Britain, hereby makes the following Regulations:β
Citation and commencement
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Motor Vehicle Tyres (Safety) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2003 and shall come into force on 1st January 2004.
Amendment of the Motor Vehicle Tyres (Safety) Regulations 1994
2. β(1)The Motor Vehicle Tyres (Safety) Regulations 1994( 2 ) shall be further amended in accordance with the following provision of this regulation.
(2) In regulation 7(5) (supply of part-worn tyres for certain vehicles) (as it is to be substituted by regulation 4 of the Motor Vehicle Tyres (Safety) (Amendment) Regulations 2003( 3 )) at the beginning of sub-paragraph (b), there shall be inserted the words βan approval mark,β.
