INVESTIGATORY POWERS

The Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 (Commencement No. 3) Order 2003

4th December 2003

In exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 83(2) of the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000( 1 ), the Secretary of State hereby makes the following Order:

1. This Order may be cited as the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 (Commencement No.3) Order 2003.

2. The following provisions of the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 shall come into force on 5th January 2004:

(a) Chapter II of Part I (Acquisition and disclosure of communications data) (sections 21 to 25);

(b) section 57(2)(b);

(c) section 58(1)(g), (h) and (j);

(d) sections 65(5)(c) and (8)(b); and

(e) section 68(7)(g) and (h).
