The Bristol Education Action Zone (Extension) Order 2003

Whereas an application for the purpose of extending an Education Action Zone has been made to the Secretary of State with the consent of the governing bodies of every school participating therein.

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 10(2) of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 ( 1 ) the Secretary of State for Education and Skills hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Bristol Education Action Zone (Extension) Order 2003 and shall come into force on 17 th April 2003.

Interpretation

2. —(1) In this Order-

Bristol Education Action Zone” means the Education Action Zone established by the Bristol Education Action Zone Order 2000 ( 2 ).

The extension of the Bristol Education Action Zone

3. The Bristol Education Action Zone is extended for a further period of two years beginning with 17 th April 2003.
