The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon her by section 118B(1)(a) of the Highways Act 1980( 1 ), hereby makes the following Order:
Citation, commencement
1. This Order may be cited as the Crime Prevention (Designated Areas) Order 2004 and shall come into force on 25th May 2004.
Interpretation
2. In this Order, “the maps” means the maps numbered 53 to 72 and each entitled “Map referred to in the Crime Prevention (Designated Areas) Order 2004 ”, of which prints signed on behalf of the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs are deposited and available for inspection at the offices of —
(a) the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs; and
(b) in the case of any one such map, the highway authority for the area hatched and edged red on that map.
Designated areas
3. The areas hatched and edged red on the maps are hereby designated for the purposes of section 118B of the Highways Act 1980.
