The Police Reform Act 2002 (Commencement No. 9) Order 2004

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 108(2) of the Police Reform Act 2002( 1 ), hereby makes the following Order:

1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the Police Reform Act 2002 (Commencement No. 9) Order 2004.

2. The following provisions of the Police Reform Act 2002 shall come into force on 1st June 2004—

(a) section 30 (resignation in the interests of efficiency and effectiveness);

(b) section 31 (procedural requirements for removal of senior officers);

(c) section 32 (suspension of senior officers);

(d) section 33 (removal etc. of senior officers at the instance of the Secretary of State);

(e) section 107(2) (consequential amendments and repeals) in so far as it relates to the entry in Schedule 8 referred to in paragraph (f) below; and

(f) in Schedule 8 (repeals), the entry relating to section 42(5) of the Police Act 1996( 2 ).
