COAL INDUSTRY

The Coal Industry Act 1994 (Commencement No.7) and Dissolution of the British Coal Corporation Order 2004

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon her by sections 23(2), 68(4) and 68(5)(a) of the Coal Industry Act 1994( 1 ), hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and Interpretation

1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the Coal Industry Act 1994 (Commencement No. 7) and Dissolution of the British Coal Corporation Order 2004.

(2) In this Order, the “Act” means the Coal Industry Act 1994.

Provisions Coming into Force on 27th March 2004

2. The following provisions shall come into force on 27th March 2004:

(a) section 67(8) of the Act, so far as it relates to provisions coming into force by virtue of paragraph (b); and

(b) Part III of Schedule 11 to the Act, so far as it relates to the repeals set out in the Schedule to this Order.

Dissolution of the British Coal Corporation

3. The British CoalCorporation shall be dissolved on 27th March 2004.
