The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 1(4)(c) of the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000( 1 ), hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Regulation of Investigatory Powers (Designation of an International Agreement) Order 2004 and shall come into force on 1st April 2004.

Designation of an international agreement

2. The Convention on Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters between the Member States of the European Union established by Council Act of 29th May 2000 (2000/C197/01) is hereby designated for the purposes of section 1(4) of the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000.
