The Care Standards Act 2000 (Commencement No. 20) Order 2004

6th July 2004

The Secretary of State and the National Assembly for Wales, acting jointly in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by sections 118(5) and (6) and 122 of the Care Standards Act 2000( 1 ), hereby make the following Order:—

Citation and interpretation

1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the Care Standards Act 2000 (Commencement No. 20) Order 2004.

(2) In this Order “the Act” means the Care Standards Act 2000 .

Appointed Days

2. 26th July 2004 is the day appointed for the coming into force of the following provisions of the Act

(a) section 80(1), (2)(a) and (c), (3) (in so far as it relates to positions mentioned in subsection (2)(a) and (c) of that section), (4), (5), (6)(a) and (b), (7)(a) and (b) and, in so far as it is not already in force, (8);

(b) sections 81 to 90, 92, 93 and 97; and

(c) sub-paragraph (3) of paragraph 26 of Schedule 4, in so far as not already in force, and section 116 in so far as it relates to that sub-paragraph.
