The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 17(2) and (3) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984( 1 ), and after consultation with representative organisations in accordance with section 134(2) of that Act, hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1. These Regulations may be cited as the M11 Motorway (Junction 4 Northbound, Redbridge) (Speed Limit) Regulations 2004 and shall come into force on 3rd March 2004.
Imposition of speed limit
2. —(1) No person shall drive any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 50 miles per hour on any specified length of carriageway on the M11 from Junction 4 northbound.
(2) In this regulation “specified length of carriageway” means—
(a) the M11 motorway northbound carriageway between marker post numbers MP 12/5 and MP 13/5;
(b) the entry slip road from the A406 westbound carriageway to the M11 motorway northbound carriageway between marker post numbers MP 10/4 and MP 12/5; and
(c) the entry slip road from the A406 eastbound carriageway to the M11 motorway northbound carriageway between marker post numbers MP 11/4 and MP 12/5.
