The First Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 1(5) of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation, commencement and application

1. —(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Town and Country Planning (Initial Regional Spatial Strategy)(England) Regulations 2004( 1 ) and shall come into force on 28th September 2004.

(2) These Regulations apply in relation to England only.

Initial Regional Spatial Strategies

2. The regional planning guidance set out in the first column of the Schedule to these Regulations is prescribed as the regional spatial strategy for the corresponding region in the second column of that Schedule.
