The First Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 12(2) of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004( 1 ), hereby makes the following Order:

Citation, commencement and application

1. β€”(1) This Order may be cited as the Town and Country Planning (Regions)(National Parks)(England) Order 2004 and shall come into force on 28th September 2004.

(2) This Order applies to England only.

Treatment of areas of National Parks falling within more than one region

2. The Secretary of State directs thatβ€”

(a) the area of the North York Moors National Park (which falls within Yorkshire and Humber region and North East region) and the area of the Yorkshire Dales National Park (which falls within Yorkshire and Humber region and North West region) are treated as falling wholly within Yorkshire and Humber region; and

(b) the area of the Peak District National Park (which falls within East Midlands region, West Midlands region, North West region and Yorkshire and Humber region) is treated as falling wholly within East Midlands region.
