Their Lordships, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by article 48(2) of the Health Professions Order 2001( 1 ), and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order:
Citation, commencement and interpretation
1. β(1) This Order may be cited as the Health Professions (Transitional Provisions) Order of Council 2004 and shall come into force on 18th October 2004.
(2) In this Orderβ
βAODPβ means the Association of Operating Department Practitioners;
βthe ODP Orderβ means the Health Professions (Operating Department Practitioners and Miscellaneous Amendments) Order 2004( 2 ); and
βthe Registration and Fees Rulesβ means the Health Professions Council (Registration and Fees) Rules 2003 set out in the Schedule to the Health Professions Council (Registration and Fees) Rules Order of Council 2003( 3 ).
Transitional provisions
2. For the purposes of the Registration and Fees Rulesβ
(a) the first registration period of a person who on the date of the coming into force of article 3(3)(f) of the ODP Order, is transferred to the register from the AODP register will begin on the date of the coming into force of article 3(3)(f) of the ODP Order and end on 30th November 2004; and
(b) a person who is transferred as mentioned in paragraph (a) shall not be liable to pay a registration fee in respect of his first registration period.
