The Horserace Betting and Olympic Lottery Act 2004 (Commencement No. 1) Order 2004

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon her by section 40(1) and (2) of the Horserace Betting and Olympic Lottery Act 2004( 1 ) hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and Interpretation

1. This Order may be cited as The Horserace Betting and Olympic Lottery Act 2004 (Commencement No.1) Order 2004.

2. In this Order “the Act” means the Horserace Betting and Olympic Lottery Act 2004 .

Commencement

3. Section 11 of the Act (which relates to preparatory work by the Tote) shall come into force on 1st January 2005.

4. Section 12 of the Act (interpretation) shall come into force for the purposes of section 11 of the Act on 1st January 2005.
