The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon her by section 406(3) and (4)(b) and (d) of the Communications Act 2003( 1 ), hereby makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1. This Order may be cited as the Communications Act 2003 (Consequential Amendments) Order 2004 and shall come into force on 22nd April 2004.
Insolvency (Northern Ireland) Order 1989
2. β(1) In Article 343(4)(c) (supplies of water, electricity, etc.) of the Insolvency (Northern Ireland) Order 1989( 2 ), for the words βpublic telecommunications serviceβ there shall be substituted βpublic electronic communications serviceβ.
(2) In this Article, βpublic electronic communications serviceβ has the same meaning as in Chapter 1 of Part 2 of the Communications Act 2003.
(3) The amendment in this Article extends to Northern Ireland only.
Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 1995
3. β(1) In Part 24 of Schedule 2 (development by electronic communications code operators) to the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 1995( 3 ), the word βorβ shall be inserted before βin accordance with the electronic communications codeβ wherever occurring.
(2) In this Article, βelectronic communications codeβ has the same meaning as in Chapter 1 of Part 2 of the Communications Act 2003.
(3) The amendment in this Article extends to England and Wales only.
