BETTING, GAMING AND LOTTERIES
The Horserace Betting and Olympic Lottery Act 2004 (Commencement No. 2) Order 2005

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon her by section 40 of the Horserace Betting and Olympic Lottery Act 2004( 1 ), hereby makes the following order:
Citation and Interpretation
1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the Horserace Betting and Olympic Lottery Act 2004 (Commencement No. 2) Order 2005.
(2) In this Order “the Act” means the Horserace Betting and Olympic Lottery Act 2004 .
Commencement
2. The following provisions of the Act shall come into force on 8th April 2005:
-
sections 14, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 28, 33, 35, 36, 37 and 39;
-
subsections (1) to (5), (7), (8), (9)(a), (9)(b), (10) and (11) of section 34;
-
section 38 but only to the extent it relates to the provisions of Schedule 6 specified below;
-
in Schedule 6 the repeal of sections 21(2), 22(3)(e) and 30 of the National Lottery etc Act 1993.
