The Education (Leeds College of Music) (Transfer to the Higher Education Sector) Order 2005

The Secretary of State to whom it appears that the full-time equivalent enrolment number of the institution conducted by Leeds College of Music( 1 ) for courses of higher education exceeds 55 per cent of its total full-time equivalent enrolment number, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 122A of the Education Reform Act 1988( 2 ), hereby makes the following Order:

1. This Order may be cited as the Education (Leeds College of Music) (Transfer to the Higher Education Sector) Order 2005 and shall come into force on 1st August 2005.

2. On the date on which this Order comes into force Leeds College of Music shall cease to be a further education corporation and shall become a higher education corporation.

Incorporated under section 15 of the Further and Higher Education Act 1992 (c. 13) by S.I. 1992/2097 under the name of City of Leeds College of Music.

1988 c. 40 ; section 122A was inserted by section 74 of the Further and Higher Education Act 1992. By virtue of S.I. 1999/672 the power in section 122A is exercisable by the Secretary of State only in relation to England.
