CIVIL CONTINGENCIES
The Civil Contingencies Act 2004 (Amendment of List of Responders) Order 2005

Whereas a draft of this Order has been laid before and approved by resolution of each House of Parliament in accordance with section 17(2) of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004( 1 ) (“the Act”);
Now therefore, the Minister for the Cabinet Office, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 13(1)(a) of the Act, hereby makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1. This Order may be cited as the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 (Amendment of List of Responders) Order 2005 and comes into force on 14th November 2005.
Amendment of Schedule 1 to the Civil Contingencies Act 2004
2. In Schedule 1 to the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 –
(a) in Part 1 (Category 1 responders: general), for paragraph 9(1) (the Health Protection Agency), substitute –
“ The Health Protection Agency established by section 1 of the Health Protection Agency Act 2004 ( 2 ) in so far as its functions relate to Great Britain ” ; and
(b) in Part 3 (Category 2 responders: general), after paragraph 29 insert –
“ Health
29A A Strategic Health Authority established under section 8 of the National Health Service Act 1977 ( 3 ) . ” .
