The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 26(2) and 27(4) of the Welsh Language Act 1993( 1 ), makes the following Order:
Citation and Commencement
1. This Order may be cited as the Parliamentary Elections (Welsh Forms) (Amendment) Order 2005 and shall come into force on 19th December 2005.
Amendment of the Parliamentary Elections (Welsh Forms) Order 2005
2. —(1)The Parliamentary Elections (Welsh Forms) Order 2005( 2 ) shall be amended as follows.
(2) in Schedule 1—
(a) in Form 4 (form of words for first question prescribed by rule 35(2)), for “gwr [gwraig]” substitute “priod, partner sifil”; and
(b) in Form 4 (form of words for second question prescribed by rule 35(2)), for “ŵr [gwraig]” substitute “priod, partner sifil”.
(3) in Schedule 2—
(a) in Form 6 (Proxy’s Official Poll Card)—
(i) for “ŵr, yn wraig” substitute “priod, partner sifil”; and
(ii) for “husband, wife” substitute “spouse, civil partner”; and
(b) in Form 9 (Proxy Paper)—
(i) for “ŵr, yn wraig” substitute “priod, partner sifil”; and
(ii) for “husband, wife” substitute “spouse, civil partner”.
