The Gangmasters (Licensing) Act 2004 (Commencement No. 2) Order 2005

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon her by section 29(1) of the Gangmasters (Licensing) Act 2004( 1 ) makes the following Order:

Citation, commencement and interpretation

1. This Order may be cited as the Gangmasters (Licensing) Act 2004 (Commencement No. 2) Order 2005 and shall come into force on 1st April 2005.

Provisions coming into force

2. The following provisions of the Gangmasters (Licensing) Act 2004 are in force—

(a) section 7 (grant of licence);

(b) section 8 (general power of Gangmasters Licensing Authority to make rules);

(c) section 9 (modification, revocation or transfer of licence);

(d) section 15 (enforcement and compliance officers);

(e) section 16 (powers of officers);

(f) section 17 (entry by warrant);

(g) section 18 (obstruction of officers);

(h) section 19 (information relating to gangmasters);

(i) section 20 (application of the Act to bodies corporate);

(j) section 21 (application of the Act to unincorporated associations);

(k) section 22 (application of the Act to partnerships);

(l) section 23 (annual report);

(m) section 24 (financial provision);

(n) section 28 (application of the Act to Northern Ireland) in so far as it relates to paragraphs 9, 10, 15, 16, 17 and 18 of Schedule 2; and

(o) paragraphs 9, 10, 15, 16, 17 and 18 of Schedule 2.
