The Lord Chancellor and, in relation to proceedings in Scotland, the Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by paragraph 4(7) of Schedule 3A and 7(3) and (4) of Schedule 4 to the Medical Act 1983( 1 ), and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the General Medical Council (Legal Assessors) (Amendment) Rules 2005 and shall come into force on 18th April 2005.

Meaning of Panel

2. In the definition of Panel in rule 1(2) of the General Medical Council (Legal Assessors) Rules 2004( 2 ) (citation, commencement and interpretation) after “Interim Orders Panel” insert “, Registration Appeals Panel”.

1983 c. 54 . Paragraph 4(7) of Schedule 3A to the Medical Act 1983 was inserted by article 8(2) of the Medical Act 1983 (Amendment) Order 2002 (S.I. 2002/3135 ) and paragraph 7(3) and (4) of Schedule 4 to the Medical Act 1983 are as substituted by article 14 of that Order.
