The Human Tissue Act 2004 (Commencement No.1) Order 2005

23rd March 2005

The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 58(3) and 60(2) of the Human Tissue Act 2004( 1 ), having consulted with the National Assembly for Wales and the relevant Northern Ireland department( 2 ), hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and interpretation

1. This Order may be cited as the Human Tissue Act 2004 (Commencement No.1) Order 2005 and references in this Order to the Act are to the Human Tissue Act 2004.

Transitional provision

2. Any duty imposed on the Authority by provisions brought into force by this Order shall apply only in relation to activities carried on after the coming into force of provisions of this Act imposing obligations or restrictions in relation to such activities.

Appointed day

3. The provisions of the Act listed in the Schedule shall come into force, to the extent indicated in the Schedule, on 1 April 2005.
