The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections section 78 of the Trade Marks Act 1994( 1 ) and section 36 of the Registered Designs Act 1949( 2 ), makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Trade Marks and Designs (Address For Service) (Amendment) Rules 2006 and shall come into force immediately after the Patents, Trade Marks and Designs (Address For Service and Time Limits, etc ) Rules 2006( 3 ) on 6th April 2006.

2. In rule 8(5) of the Registered Designs Rules 1995( 4 ), for “comptroller” substitute “registrar”.

3. In rule 10(5) of the Trade Marks Rules 2000( 5 ), for “comptroller” substitute “registrar”.
