The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 18(1) of the Olympic Symbol etc. (Protection) Act 1995( 1 ) (“1995 Act”), makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Paralympics Association Right (Paralympic Symbol) Order 2006 and shall come into force on 12th May 2006.

Paralympic symbol

2. For the purposes of the definition of “Paralympic symbol” in section 18(1) of the 1995 Act, the symbol of the International Paralympic Committee is set out in the Schedule to this Order.

SCHEDULE Paralympic Symbol

1995 c. 32 ; the definition of “Paralympic symbol” in section 18(1) was inserted by paragraph 7 of Schedule 3 to the London Olympic Games and Paralympic Games Act 2006 ( 2006 c. 12) .
