In exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by sections 79E(2)(c) and 104(4) of, and paragraph 7 of Schedule 9A to, the Children Act 1989( 1 ), the Secretary of State for Education and Skills makes the following Regulations:

Citation, commencement, application and interpretation

1. —(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Day Care and Child Minding (Registration Fees) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2006 and come into force on 2nd October 2006.

(2) These Regulations apply only in relation to England.

(3) In these Regulations “the 2005 Regulations” means the Day Care and Child Minding (Registration Fees) (England) Regulations 2005 ( 2 ).

Amendment of the 2005 Regulations

2. The 2005 Regulations are amended in accordance with regulations 3 and 4.

3. In regulation 3—

(1) for “£14”, in each place where it appears, substitute “£18”;

(2) for “£121” substitute “£150”.

4. In regulation 4—

(1) for “£11”, in each place where it appears, substitute “£14”;

(2) for “£94” substitute “£120”.

Section 79E and Schedule 9A were inserted by section 79(1) of and Schedule 3 to the Care Standards Act 2000 (c. 14) and amended by paragraph 3(1) and 4(2) of Schedule 4 to the Children Act 2004 (c. 31) .
