The Health and Social Care Act 2001 (Commencement No. 14) (England) Order 2006

The Secretary of State for Health makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 64(6) and 70 of the Health and Social Care Act 2001( 1 ):

Citation, interpretation and application

1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the Health and Social Care Act 2001 (Commencement No. 14) (England) Order 2006.

(2) In this Order, “the Act” means the Health and Social Care Act 2001 .

(3) This Order applies in relation to England only.

Appointed day in respect of provision for local pharmaceutical services schemes

2. —(1) 28th February 2006 is the appointed day for the coming into force of—

(a) section 40 of the Act (provision for LPS services); and

(b) Schedule 3 to the Act,

for the purpose of making regulations.

(2) 1st April 2006 is the appointed day for the coming into force of—

(a) section 40 of the Act in so far as not already in force;

(b) Schedule 3 to the Act in so far as not already in force; and

(c) Paragraphs 5(12)(a) and 11(4) of Schedule 5 to the Act (minor and consequential amendments) and, in so far as it relates to those paragraphs, section 67(1) of the Act.

Appointed day in respect of pharmaceutical services

3. 1st April 2006 is the appointed day for the coming into force of Part 2 of Schedule 6 and, in so far as it relates to that Part, section 67(2) to the Act (repeals).
