The Discipline of Coroners (Designation) Order 2006

The Lord Chancellor makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 118(2) of the Constitutional Reform Act 2005( 1 ) with the agreement of the Lord Chief Justice—

Citation and Commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Discipline of Coroners (Designation) Order 2006 and shall come into force on 3rd April 2006.

Offices designated

2. The following offices are designated for the purpose of section 118 of the Constitutional Reform Act—

(1) Coroners appointed under section 1 of the Coroners Act 1988( 2 );

(2) the Coroner of the Queen’s Household appointed under section 29(1) of the Coroners Act 1988.
