The Lord Chancellor makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 107(6) of the Constitutional Reform Act 2005( 1 )—

Citation and Commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Permitted Persons (Designation) Order 2006 and shall come into force on 3rd April 2006.

Permitted persons designated

2. The following are designated as permitted persons for the purposes of section 107 of the Constitutional Reform Act—

(1) the General Council of the Bar;

(2) the Faculty of Advocates;

(3) the Honourable Society of the Inn of Court of Northern Ireland;

(4) the Law Society of England and Wales;

(5) the Law Society of Scotland;

(6) the Law Society of Northern Ireland;

(7) the Chief Medical Officer for England;

(8) the General Medical Council;

(9) the General Dental Council;

(10) the General Optical Council;

(11) the Nursing and Midwifery Council;

(12) the General Social Care Council;

(13) the Care Council for Wales;

(14) the Scottish Social Services Council;

(15) the Chief Medical Officer for Wales;

(16) the Royal College of Anaesthetists;

(17) the Royal College of General Practitioners;

(18) the Royal College of Nursing;

(19) the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists;

(20) the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health;

(21) the Royal College of Pathologists;

(22) the Royal College of Physicians;

(23) the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow;

(24) the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh;

(25) the Royal College of Psychiatrists;

(26) the Royal College of Radiologists;

(27) the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh;

(28) the Royal College of Surgeons of England;

(29) the Society of Apothecaries of London;

(30) the Financial Services Authority;

(31) the Association of Chartered and Certified Accountants;

(32) the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy;

(33) the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants;

(34) the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales;

(35) the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland;

(36) the Architects Registration Board;

(37) the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors;

(38) the Institute of Civil Engineers;

(39) the Institute of Mechanical Engineers;

(40) the Institute of Structural Engineers;

(41) the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators;

(42) the Chartered Institute of Patent Agents;

(43) the Council for Licensed Conveyancers;

(44) the Institute of Legal Executives;

(45) the Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys.
