The Secretary of State, who is a Minister designated for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972( 1 ) in relation to the common agricultural policy of the European Community( 2 ) and in relation to measures in the veterinary and phytosanitary fields for the protection of public health( 3 ), makes the following Regulations.

Title, application and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Cattle Identification (Amendment) Regulations 2007; they apply in England and come into force on 1st May 2007.

Amendment to the Cattle Identification Regulations 2007

2.The Cattle Identification Regulations 2007( 4 ) are amended by adding after regulation 3(3) the following paragraphβ€”

β€œ (4) Any person who fails to comply with paragraph (1) or (3) is guilty of an offence. ”
