The Police and Justice Act 2006 (Commencement No. 3) Order 2007

The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 53(1) of the Police and Justice Act 2006( 1 ).
1. β(1) This Order may be cited as the Police and Justice Act 2006 (Commencement No. 3) Order 2007.
(2) This Order extends to England and Wales, except that article 3 extends to England only.
2. The following provisions of the Police and Justice Act 2006 shall come into force on 29th June 2007β
(a) section 2 (amendments to the 1996 Act) in so far as it relates to the entries in Schedule 2 (amendments to the 1996 Act) referred to in sub-paragraph (b);
(b) paragraphs 7(1) and (2) (functions of police authorities) of Schedule 2;
(c) section 3 (delegation of police authority functions);
(d) section 13 (supply of information to police etc by Registrar General);
(e) section 18 (arrest for failing to comply with conditional caution);
(f) section 41 (immigration and asylum enforcement function: complaints and misconduct);
(g) section 52 (amendments and repeals) in so far as it relates to the entries in Schedules 14 (minor and consequential amendments) and 15 (repeals and revocations) in sub-paragraphs (h) and (i);
(h) paragraphs 53 to 58 of Schedule 14; and
(i) in Part 2 of Schedule 15 (repeals: powers of the police etc) the entry relating to the Criminal Justice Act 2003( 2 ).
3. The following provisions of the Police and Justice Act 2006 shall come into force on 1st August 2007β
(a) sections 23 to 25 (parenting contracts and parenting orders);
(b) section 22 and Schedule 9 (amendments to the Crime and Disorder Act 1998);
(c) section 52 (amendments and repeals) in so far as it relates to the entries in Schedule 15 in sub-paragraph (c);
(d) paragraphs 53 to 57 of Schedule 14;
(e) in Part 3 of Schedule 15 (repeals: crime and anti-social behaviour) the entries relating toΒ β
(i) the Crime and Disorder Act 1998( 3 );
(ii) the Police Reform Act 2002( 4 ); and
(iii) the Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005( 5 ).
