The governing body of the Valley Invicta Park Federation, a federation comprising two new community schools: the Invicta Grammar School ( 1 ) and the Valley Park Community School( 2 ), both of Huntsman Lane, Maidstone, Kent, ME14 5DT wish to provide for their constitution to be otherwise than as provided by education legislation;
The governing body has, in accordance with section 4(2) of the Education Act 2002( 3 ) (“the Act”), consulted the local education authority and such other persons as appear to them to be appropriate;
It is the opinion of the Secretary of State, having regard to the matters set out in section 1(2) of the Act, that the implementation by the governing body of the provisions of this Order may contribute to the raising of educational standards in England;
In exercise of the powers conferred upon the Secretary of State by section 2(1) of the Act, the Secretary of State for Education and Skills, on the application of the governing body, makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1. This Order may be cited as the Valley Invicta Park Federation (School Governance) Order 2007 and comes into force on 23 rd February 2007.
Relaxation of the Federation Regulations
2. In respect of the constitution of the governing body of the Valley Invicta Park Federation, the requirements of the School Governance (Federations) (England) Regulations 2004( 4 ) are relaxed as follows:
(a) for the purposes of regulation 14(1)(a) and 14(2) the term “head teacher” means both the head teacher and the deputy head teachers of the federated schools; and
(b) for the purposes of regulation 21(1) the maximum size of the governing body shall be 23.
Time period
3. This Order shall have effect until 23rd February 2010.
