The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 333(1) of the Criminal Justice Act 2003( 1 ), makes the following Order:

Citation, interpretation and commencement

1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the Criminal Justice Act 2003 (Reviews of Sentencing) (Consequential and Supplementary Provisions) Order 2007 and shall come into force on 12 July 2007.

(2) In this Order “the 2003 Act” means the Criminal Justice Act 2003.

Modification for reviews of minimum term on reference by Attorney General in transitional cases

2.Section 36 of the Criminal Justice Act 1988( 2 ) (reviews of sentencing) shall apply in relation to an order made by the High Court, on or after the date on which this Order comes into force, under section 269(2) of the 2003 Act (determination of minimum term in relation to mandatory life sentence) on a reference under paragraph 6 of Schedule 22 to that Act (which relates to transitional cases) as it applies to an order under section 269(2) of that Act by the Crown Court.
