The Time Off for Public Duties (Parent Councils) Order 2007

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 50(10)(a) of the Employment Rights Act 1996( 1 ), makes the following Order:–

Citation and Commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Time Off for Public Duties (Parent Councils) Order 2007 and shall come into force on 1st August 2007.

Amendment of section 50 of the Employment Rights Act 1996

2. In section 50 of the Employment Rights Act 1996 (right to time off for public duties), in subsection (9)( 2 ), for paragraph (d) (Scottish school boards) substitute—

(d) a parent council within the meaning of section 5(2) of the Scottish Schools (Parental Involvement) Act 2006 ( 3 ) , .
