The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 144(3)(b) and (14) of the Transport Act 2000( 1 ), makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Bus Lane Contraventions (Approved Local Authorities) (England) (Amendment) (No. 5) Order 2007 and shall come into force on 11 th September 2007.

Specification of approved local authorities

2. West Sussex County Council is specified as an approved local authority for the purposes of section 144 of the Transport Act 2000 (civil penalties for bus lane contraventions)( 2 ).

Amendment to the Bus Lane Contraventions (Approved Local Authorities) (England) Order 2005

3. —(1) The Schedule to the Bus Lane Contraventions (Approved Local Authorities) (England) Order 2005( 3 ) shall be amended as set out in paragraph (2).

(2) After the row in the table relating to Warwickshire County Council, insert the following row—

West Sussex County Council S.I. 2007/2322

The Road Traffic (Permitted Parking Area and Special Parking Area) (County of West Sussex) (District of Horsham) Order 2005 ( S.I. 2005/3492 ), the Road Traffic (Permitted Parking Area and Special Parking Area) (County of West Sussex) (District of Mid Sussex) order 2005 ( S.I. 2005/3494 ) and the Road Traffic (Permitted Parking Area and Special Parking Area) (County of West Sussex) (Borough of Worthing) Order 2007 ( S.I. 2007/2322 ) designated parts of the County of West Sussex as a permitted and special parking area under paragraphs 1(1), 2(1) and 3(3) of Schedule 3 to the Road Traffic Act 1991 (c.40) .
