M1,M2 In exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by sections 19 and 42(6) of the Teaching and Higher Education Act 1998 and sections 132, 134 and 210(7) of the Education Act 2002 , the Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families makes the following Regulations:

Citation, commencement and application

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Recognition of School Teachers' Professional Qualifications) (Consequential Provisions) (England) Regulations 2007 and come into force on 19th October 2007.

2. These Regulations apply in relation to England.

Amendment to the Education (Induction Arrangements for School Teachers) (Consolidation) (England) Regulations 2001

Amendment to the Education (School Teachers' Qualifications) (England) Regulations 2003

M3 4. For paragraph 8 of Schedule 2 to the Education (School Teachers' Qualifications) (England) Regulations 2003 , substitute—

8. The person is a person who is, as respects the profession of school teacher, entitled to practice pursuant to Part 2 and Chapters 1, 2 and 4 of Part 3 of the European Communities (Recognition of Professional Qualifications) Regulations 2007. .

Amendment to the Education (Specified Work and Registration) (England) Regulations 2003

M4 5. After paragraph 2 of Schedule 3 to the Education (Specified Work and Registration) (England) Regulations 2003 insert—

3. A teacher who is a qualified teacher by virtue of regulation 5 of, and paragraph 8 of Schedule 2 to, the 2003 Qualifications Regulations is excepted from the requirement to be registered under regulation 7 if he only carries out specified work in a school on a temporary or occasional basis as determined in accordance with regulation 9(2) of the European Communities (Recognition of Professional Qualifications) Regulations 2007. .
