The Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 89(2)(e) and 138(7) of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998( 1 ):
Citation and commencement
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Determination of Admission Arrangements) (Amendment No. 2) (England) Regulations 2007 and come into force on 26 th November 2007.
Application
2. —(1) These Regulations apply only in relation to England and in relation to the determination year 2007-2008 and subsequent determination years.
(2) In this regulation “determination year”, in relation to the proposed admission arrangements for a school, means the school year beginning two years before the school year which the arrangements will be for.
Amendment of the Education (Determination of Admission Arrangements) Regulations 1999
3. —(1)The Education (Determination of Admission Arrangements) Regulations 1999( 2 ) are amended as follows.
(2) After regulation 5 insert—
“ Additional consultation requirements: schools with a religious character
5ZA. —(1) This regulation prescribes, for the purposes of section 89(2)(e) of the Act, the body or person who must be consulted about proposed admission arrangements in relation to foundation and voluntary schools designated as having a religious character.
(2) The bodies or persons listed in the second column of the Table must be consulted about proposed admission arrangements for schools designated as having the religion or religious denomination listed in the first column of the Table.
(3) Where a school is designated as having more than one religion or religious denomination, the body or person listed in the second column of the Table for each of the religions or religious denominations must be consulted about the proposed admission arrangements for that school.

Revocation
4. The Education (Determining School Admission Arrangements for the Initial Year) Regulations 1998( 4 ) are revoked in relation to England.
