The Education and Inspections Act 2006 (Commencement No.6) Order 2007

The Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 181 and 188(3) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006( 1 ), makes the following Order:
Citation and interpretation
1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the Education and Inspections Act 2006 (Commencement No.6) Order 2007.
(2) In this Order, “the Act” means the Education and Inspections Act 2006.
Provisions coming into force on 1st January 2008
2. Section 5 of the Act comes into force in respect of special schools( 2 ) in relation to the local education authorities listed in Part 1 of the Schedule on 1st January 2008.
Provisions coming into force on 1st April 2008
3. Section 5 of the Act comes into force in respect of special schools in relation to the local education authorities listed in Part 2A of the Schedule and, in respect of primary schools( 3 ), in relation to the local education authorities listed in Part 2B of the Schedule on 1st April 2008.
