The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972( 1 ).

She has been designated( 2 ) for the purposes of section 2(2) in relation to the regulation and supervision of working conditions of persons engaged in road transport and to measures relating to the organisation of working time.

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Community Drivers’ Hours and Working Time (Foot-and-Mouth Disease) (Temporary Exception) (Amendment) Regulations 2007 and shall come into force on 5th November 2007.

Amendment of the Community Drivers’ Hours and Working Time (Foot-and-Mouth Disease) (Temporary Exception) Regulations 2007

2. —(1) The Community Drivers’ Hours and Working Time (Foot-and-Mouth Disease) (Temporary Exception) Regulations 2007( 3 ) are amended as follows.

(2) In regulation 1(1), for “5th November 2007” substitute “19th November 2007.”

(3) In regulation 2(1):

(a) in the definition of “the circumstances”, after the phrase “the exceptional circumstances” add “in Scotland”; and

(b) in the definition of “the specified purpose”, after the phrase “pigs, cattle and sheep” add “from any place in Scotland”.
