The Crime and Disorder (Prescribed Information) (Amendment) Regulations 2008

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 17A(2) and 114(1) of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998( 1 ), makes the following Regulations:

Citation, commencement and interpretation

1. —(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Crime and Disorder (Prescribed Information) (Amendment) Regulations 2008 and shall come into force on 23rd June 2008.

(2) In these Regulations “the 2007 Regulations” means the Crime and Disorder (Prescribed Information) Regulations 2007 ( 2 ).

Transitional provisions

2. —(1) The first information period to which these Regulations apply shall be the information period beginning on the 1st April 2008.

(2) The first information period within which information shall be disclosed under the 2007 Regulations, as amended by these Regulations, is the period beginning on 1st July 2008.

Amendments to the 2007 Regulations

3. —(1) The Schedule to the 2007 Regulations shall be amended as follows.

(2) In paragraph 1 for “for 2007/2008” substitute “as at 1st April 2008”;

(3) In paragraph 2 for “the date of these Regulations” substitute “1st April 2008”.

1998 (c.37) ; section 17A of the 1998 Act was inserted by section 22 of, and Schedule 9 to, the Police and Justice Act 2006 (c. 48) . There are amendments to section 114 of the 1998 Act not relevant to these Regulations.
